71st Carroll County Fair next week

Queen Blvd., a high-energy cover band from St. Louis, Mol, will take the stage for the Carroll County Fair’s grandstand concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11. Free seating is available in the grandstand and on the track.

MILLEDGEVILLE—The 71st Carroll County Fair will be held Aug. 5-12, offering a large variety of activities.

Queens Blvd. will take the stage for the grandstand concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, with free seating available in the grandstand and the track.

Queens Blvd is a high-energy cover band hailing from St. Louis, Mo., that specializes in bringing classic rock hits from the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's back to life. With a passion for rock n' roll and a killer stage presence, these musicians deliver electrifying renditions of beloved songs that will have audiences on their feet and singing along.

From Led Zeppelin to Blink 182, Queens Blvd's set list is packed with crowd-pleasers that are sure to get the party started. They are a must-see for any rock fan looking for a night of nostalgia and non-stop entertainment.

Family-favorite events will return, with carnival rides and games available Aug. 8-12. Families can purchase individual tickets at $1.25 each (with rides costing between two to five tickets each) or purchase wristbands for $25 in advance (from July 30 to Aug. 7 in the Fair Office) or $28 at the carnival ticket booth.

Carnival times are:

•Tuesday, Aug. 8, from 6 to 10 p.m.

•Wednesday, Aug. 9, from 3 to10 p.m.

•Thursday, Aug. 10, from 4 to 10 p.m.

•Friday, Aug. 11, from 3 to 10 p.m. (hours subject to change)

•Saturday, Aug. 12, from 1 to 10 p.m.

Other attractions, such as the demolition derby, chainsaw carving demonstrations, rice bull riding and barrel racing, kiddie tractor pull and more, will be returning to this year's fair. For more information, people may visit the fair's website; https://carrollcountyfair.info.

The fair office on the fairgrounds will be open during the day: beginning Sunday, July 30. Hours open will be:

•Tuesday, Aug. 1 until Saturday, Aug. 5: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

•Sunday, Aug. 6 until Monday, Aug. 7: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

•Tuesday, Aug. 8 until Saturday, Aug. 12: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Sunday, Aug. 13: noon to 2 p.m.
